After Covid-19, the Digital Media Commons faced a significant challenge: none of the incoming students knew they existed. My role was to design, market, and execute a "back-to-school" event that would reintroduce the Digital Media Commons to students and highlight its many resources.
Over the summer leading up to the event, I collaborated with multiple departments within the Duderstadt Center to secure funding and develop a cohesive marketing strategy. The event took the form of a scavenger hunt, showcasing 50+ resources available to students. Participants earned tickets for prizes as they explored and engaged with the space.
The design look for this project was taken from the Digital Media Commons style guide. Each space is represented in the graphics with their own previously established distinct color and logo. The logo work and color in the project was all mine, and a thrill to produce. Using colors from the spaces and typography reminiscent of a carnival, the design aim was a fun, lighthearted feel that expressed the passion within these spaces and the creativity present for students and staff alike.
The event was a resounding success. Over 75 students participated, claiming prizes and significantly boosting the visibility of the Digital Media Commons among both students and stakeholders.
