Overview

I wanted to aim for a design that references the 2000s cyber-aesthetic, the type of shirt that you would find in a thrift shop today.

I began by sketching the design on paper, and then using Pinterest and Canva to find some assets that could match my vision. I then completed the design in Photoshop, sending it back and forth to my clients at the radio station for constant feedback. We had certain limitations in place, like it could only be 3 colors, and it has to have "WCBN-FM" and "88.3" somewhere on it.

Because it was going to be printed, we then had to convert it to an SVG for the printshop, which I did in Illustrator. This had some difficulty at first, since I made a design of tiny dots - difficult to translate to the shape format expected by the printer. But after a few hours of editing, and feedback again from my clients, we landed on a design that printed pretty well. I keep one of the shirts in my drawer and wear it frequently now.
